Chiu Chow Community is regarded as an important community in Hong Kong. It poses its influences on Hong Kong through various means such as food, music and traditional Chiu Chow opera, etc. With a strong community bonding, especially from older generations, Chiu Chow people value their cultures, as well as their unique language Chiuchowese. Hence, organisations such as the Federation of Hong Kong Chiu Chow Community Organisations and the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Merchants Mutual Assistance Society Ltd. are developed. To preserve and promote their language and culture, some organisations create various campaigns. The Hong Kong Chiu Chow Festival is one of those.

According to Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce, there are over 1 million Chiu Chow population in Hong Kong. The Chiu Chow community is influencing the society of Hong Kong in different aspects, cultural, educational, economic and political, etc.
